Shri Bolai Mata Temple

Temple, Vadodara-Baroda By No Comments

The Bolai Mata Temple or so called Bolai Aai Mandir in Vadodara is a cherished place with a rich history and deep spiritual significance. Located near Siddhnath Road, this temple is a revered spot for devotees.

The temple, originally located near Leheripura Gate (Darwaja), was rebuilt by Maharaja Khanderao Gaekwad on Siddhnath Road. The story behind the temple’s construction is quite fascinating. As Maharaja Khanderao grew older, he could no longer visit the original temple in Wadebolai, Maharashtra. According to legend, Mataji appeared to him in a dream, instructing him to build a new temple in Vadodara. Following her guidance, the Maharaja constructed this temple, which has since become a central place of worship.

The temple is particularly known for its special significance to children who struggle with speech. It is believed that those who cannot speak from birth or have difficulty speaking will find their voice by visiting Bolai Mataji and receiving her blessings.

The temple plays a significant role in local traditions too. The wedding palanquin of Khandoba Maharaj, a revered deity, is also set off from Bolai Mataji’s temple, marking important ceremonies.
