Sayaji Literature Festival

A new trend started in year 2016, of celebrating Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III’s birth anniversary by organization of a literature festival by students of MSU’s Faculty of Arts, which also continued in 2017. It is one of its kind and the first Literature Festival of & for city. “Sayaji Literature Festival” was organized on the 10th, 11th, and 12th of March 2017 in the Faculty of Arts.

This was the second edition of Vadodara’s first ever literature festival. A few salient features of the festival are:

A discussion was held on the languages that are taught in the university including English, Hindi, Gujarati, Sanskrit, Marathi, Sindhi, Urdu, German, French, and on other provincial languages.

All the sessions of this literature festival was conducted by students themselves. Students from schools and colleges also took part & got a chance to speak in the literature festival.

Sayaji Literature Festival also had Prabhat-feri, Heritage walk, Fun-street, Exhibition, Workshop and other competitions. In the evening, Natyotsav, Nrutyotsav, and Naad-utsav were also held.⁠⁠⁠⁠

The next SLF may be scheduled on January 3 2018, on the Diamond Jubilee of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III.
